United Noodles, 8/3/20

This week’s Diversity-Owned Small Business spotlight isn’t a restaurant, though you can get yummy goodies there! If you haven’t been before, plan your next socially-distanced /safe shopping trip to United Noodles. It started as a noodle wholesale business in 1972 & now it’s a specialty market that offers all foods Asian. You’ll find sauces, fresh meat & seafood, produce, snacks, gift ideas, frozen food, and of course a plethora of noodles. Their common & unique products range from China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, India, Sri Lanka, and Hawaii. While not the original owner, Fung’s vision was to expand and now there’s a second location in Woodbury. I live in Mpls, so that’s the store I frequent. While I can’t read some of the labels, I can surmise what it is by looking around at the products surrounding it. And sometimes I don’t care if I know what it is-I just get adventurous and try it! Delivery is also available via Instacart. Unfortunately, covid has temporarily shut down Unideli, the tiny restaurant inside the Mpls location known for its glorious ramen. It was even featured in a Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives episode! Unideli rightfully deserves it’s own post! Last picture is of one of my favorite snacks that I get every trip there. The picture makes you think it will be spicy but no-it’s just a crunchy, savory delight!
