Annual MEMORIAL MURPH Event

Our annual Memorial MURPH event is to honor fallen hero: Lieutenant Michael Murphy. His nickname was “the Protector,” and he was killed in Afghanistan on June 28, 2005, doing just that: protecting his team and exposing himself to enemy fire. Even after taking several shots, he fought to the very end for his team. The 2013 movie “Lone Survivor” recalls this mission. “Body Armor” was Lt. Murphy’s favorite workout. Wearing a 20lb. vest; run 1 mile, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, run 1 mile again. The workout was changed in his honor to MURPH. His sacrifice is why we do Memorial MURPH every year.

Our Fundraiser is for Project Delta. They train shelter/rescue dogs as service dogs for veterans. Everyday 22 veterans commit suicide. This year’s annual MURPH fundraiser donation is in Honor of David Plaut. David passed away January 27th of this year after a heroic medical battle of 8 years. His wife Christina is a personal friend of mine and she’s been a member of our gym for over 10 years.
